Ensoushitemita (演奏してみた) literally means "tried to do a musical performance", while the instrumentalists are called Ensousha (演奏者) which is the general japanese term for a performer.[1]
Ensoushitemita is a category on Nico Nico Douga, where intrumentalists upload covers of various instrumental verisons of songs, preferably VOCALOID songs.
The Ensoushitemita category has several subcategories.
- Hiitemita (弾いてみた) for stringed instruments (e.g. the guitar but also the piano)[2]
- Fuitemita (吹いてみた) for wind instruments (e.g. the flute)
- Tataitemita (叩いてみた) for cymbals (e.g. the drums)
Ensoushitemita is a subcategory of the Yattemita section on Nico Nico Douga. Yattemita (やってみた), which means "tried to do", is a section in Nico Nico Douga where people upload videos of them "trying to do things". There are currently five subcategories in this section: utattemita (tried to sing), odottemita (tried to dance), egaitemita (tried to draw), ensoushitemita (tried to do a musical performance), and nico nico gijutsu-bu (arts and technology department).
